Category: week 1: class intros (b)

This is really late but….

Helloo! My name is Jenny Cheng and I’m 14 years old. I’m a girl and my birthday is on August 2nd. I go to NYCiSchool and I’m in 9th grade. I like food and being lazy. I don’t play sports and I hate playing them. My group is doing yellow fever and that’s about it. I guess this class is cool, not to boring or anything.

About Me

Hiya! My name is Sharon R. and I am a junior at the NYC iSchool.  I like to read and write, and spend time with my friends during my spare time.  Taking this course is important to me because I want to learn more about the infectious diseases in the world.  This course and subject are important to me because I want these diseases to be eradicated if possible and be more educated on these things.  I want to do well and learn knew facts from this course.

About myself.

Hello everyone ! My name is Aransa G., I am currently a sophomore in NYCiSchool. I’m 15 years old and I’m very independent person. I tend to be very anti-social at times, but I can be really friendly. I love food! On my own time I like to read, cook, dance and just spend time with my family or friends. I decided to take the class ‘Global Infectious Disease’ because it sounded really interesting at the time.  I just love knowing about diseases that are world wide and how they affect us; I find it important to know about diseases and how to prevent them.  I found the project of the class interesting which is finding a solution to specific disease of our choice. I wonder if we can actually think of a possible solution by the due date.

Yo, it’s George from Georgia (the country) and I one crazy intellectual! I’m 15 and I live in Manhattan, New York City! I am a sophomore at the NYC iSchool. My favorite things to do are: chilling and telling funny jokes with my friends, playing video games, and extreme sports and activities.

Challenges I hope to accomplish:

-Become an amazing guitar player

-Become very wealthy and do every single extreme sports in the world

-Have a great ton of fun on the way there

When I heard we were doing this huge collaboration with other schools, I was really excited. Can’t wait to see how much knowledge we can compile! I watched many zombies movies and movies/books are infectious diseases. Recently, my class did reviews and I picked the movie Resident Evil: Extinction. It was really cool and had many scenes that tied to our class topics. Things like finding a cure, containing the infection, immunity, etc.

I would like to make the world smarter and more “healthier” by educating about how bad these disease are. Also if we know how is it transmitted, we can better combat the problem at the source. This class is very important because it makes us more aware and with awareness comes power.

Peace.

My group (including me): Katherine E., Stephanie F., and Pamela G.

About Me

My name is Allison W., I’m in 10th grade, and I love to read. I’m taking this class because I think it’s very interesting to learn about diseases that have killed and affected millions of people. This class is important to me because people are still suffering from the infinitely dangerous infectious diseases, and I think it is important to understand and have the knowledge of what some people, of all ages, races, locations, and class are suffering through every day.

Intro

Hello, my name is Katherine and I am a junior at the NYC iSchool. I am really excited to see how this blogging thing goes. I think the topic itself that we are covering is so interesting which is one of the reasons why I choose to participate in this class. I’m hoping that this class will inform us more about how we are affected as a whole and what we can do about it. My group which includes George, Stephanie, Pamela, have chosen to look more into Ebola, which I find really interesting the way I found out of this virus was through a book I read named, The Hot Zone, which is not completely boring, and would recommend to anyone.

♥ hey.

Hi guys, I’m Chloe. I was told I’m supposed to tell you what I enjoy doing; so I guess I just like chilling, nothing too bumpy. I didn’t necessarily choose this class specifically. In fact, I didn’t choose any of my classes, they were picked for me. Either way, I ended up taking Global Infectious Diseases. I actually enjoy this class quite a bit because of the new things I get to learn everyday. Diseases,  ciruses, bacteria and how different types of disease work have always interested me since I was in elementary school. This class is indeed very important because I personally feel like we should all have a good knowledge of the types of diseases going around in the world. More so, the infectious ones. The issue is also important to me personally because I would like to be aware of what I can catch. . . That’s all I have to say about that.

Intro.

My name is Stephanie F. I’m a sophmore at the NYCiSchool, with average grades. This class, is not at all bad, compared to a few that i’ve taken. I like to go online, and chat. I also like to play some video games. I just discovered how awsome Call Of Duty really is… In my freetime, i watch TV. I’m not a very active person. I don’t like sports. But i like baking, dancing, and spending lots of time with friends. The End.

My name is David L.  I go to NYC i School and I am in the class Global Infectious Diseases. I chose this class because I wanted to learn about diseases world wide and how they have affected the world economy.

I’m Kyjah C.

Hello ,

My name is Kyjah C. I live in New York City and I am sixteen years old. I like that the NYCiSCHOOL is a different environment of learning . It really relates to the 21st century and thus issues that we should know about.  Global infectious diseases are impotant to know about because it shows an awareness to issues that are affecting our world daily . Dec 1, 2010 , today , is World Aids Day.  HIV/AIDS is a global infectious disease that has impacted over a million people . Global diseases come with stigma and prejudice. Through this class I am learning how to prevent the spread and other stuff contributing to our understanding of diseases.  I think the media has a role in adovating the public about global infectious diseases and they should do so with respect . The media portrays many sterotypes about global infectious diseases that are misintrepreted .  I am excited to learn about Global infectious diseases and help to tackle its prejudices by looking for a solution.
